Rakahuri Rage Mountain Bike Race 2018
The Rakahuri Rage 6-hour mountain bike relay race returns to Rangiora on 18th March 2018. You can enter your team now, either online at www.rakahuri... or by picking up an entry form at Push Bikes Rangiora or the Rangiora Fitness Centre on East Belt.
Based from the Rangiora Race Course the Rakahuri Rage involves teams of 2-4 riders competing to see who can do the most laps of the 8km course in 6 hours. The track used in this race is suitable for riders of all abilities combining single-track through river-side bush and wider stop-bank roads.
The Rakahuri Rage is open to riders 12 years and older and has categories to suit all age groups and gender mixes. The event is both fun and challenging and provides a supportive and encouraging environment for young and old, and for new-comers and experienced riders. The event is run by the North Canterbury Sport & Recreation Trust with all proceeds supporting the MainPower Waiswim Primary Schools Swimming Programme.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
