A Most Excellent Concert this Sunday at 3pm in the Old Library.
Kia Ora Whanau and Friends!
I am a member of Sistema Whangarie, and on behalf of the organization, I would like to forward this email with an excitement to invite you all to attend the event with A Most Excellent Concert this Sunday at 3pm ( 14/11/2021 ) in the Old Library.
*****
Our Kahikatea and Tui Orchestras have been working hard and with lockdowns and uncertainty they are SO THRILLED to be able to perform for you now.
Also, the musicians who would have gone to the Marimba Festival in August are going to present their pieces for us. Having missed out on the Festival, they are very excited to finally get to perform for us.
Our newest addition to the Sistema musical groups is our Jazz Group. They will be providing some mellow tunes.
We would absolutely LOVE for as many of the whanau and friends to attend as possible. This is also a great opportunity for our Miromiro musicians to come and see what their next step is.
The music and presentation is inspiring and uplifting. What a great way to start the holiday season.
The concert will be livestreamed on Facebook, so if you cannot attend you can still participate. Here is the link: www.facebook.com...
At this stage we are still planning on going to the Sistema HUI in February and have set up a Give a Little page to help raise funds for that.
This link is here, and it is also on the Home page of our website and will be linked to the livestream on Facebook as well. Give A Little - The Power and Possibility of Music
Thank you very much for your continued support and encouragement of our tamariki and rangatahi. Their joy and success is all our joy and success!
See you Sunday!!!

Best way to use leftovers?
I'm sure you've got some excess ham at home or cold roast potatoes.
What are some of your favourite ways to use leftover food from Christmas day? Share below.
⚠️ DOGS DIE IN HOT CARS. If you love them, don't leave them. ⚠️
It's a message we share time and time again, and this year, we're calling on you to help us spread that message further.
Did you know that calls to SPCA about dogs left inside hot cars made up a whopping 11% of all welfare calls last summer? This is a completely preventable issue, and one which is causing hundreds of dogs (often loved pets) to suffer.
Here are some quick facts to share with the dog owners in your life:
👉 The temperature inside a car can heat to over 50°C in less than 15 minutes.
👉 Parking in the shade and cracking windows does little to help on a warm day. Dogs rely on panting to keep cool, which they can't do in a hot car.
👉 This puts dogs at a high risk of heatstroke - a serious condition for dogs, with a mortality rate between 39%-50%.
👉 It is an offence under the Animal Welfare Act to leave a dog in a hot vehicle if they are showing signs of heat stress. You can be fined, and prosecuted.
SPCA has created downloadable resources to help you spread the message even further. Posters, a flyer, and a social media tile can be downloaded from our website here: www.spca.nz...
We encourage you to use these - and ask your local businesses to display the posters if they can. Flyers can be kept in your car and handed out as needed.
This is a community problem, and one we cannot solve alone. Help us to prevent more tragedies this summer by sharing this post.
On behalf of the animals - thank you ❤️
