Helicopter testing at Onerahi airport, Friday 7 November 2025.
🚁 Testing, testing! You might hear more helicopter movements than usual tomorrow (Friday 7 November 2025).
NRHL’s new AW169 helicopter type is being tested to get better data for modelling the impact of the new aircraft to be used by NRHL, and to consider measures that may be implemented to minimise noise associated with operations at the airport. They will be flying standard approaches and departures, as well as ground-manoeuvring.
The tests are expected to take place between 9:00am and 11:00am, then 1:00pm and 3:00pm (if required).
