For the first time ever we've opened a new youth-fund to help people aged 12-20 run their own awesome initiatives.

Types of eligible initiatives could be workshops, events, seminars, research and surveys, awareness campaigns, community activities, resources for sectors of the community, and more. Eligible initiatives are those that address a need and provide benefit to the Whangārei community. We are unable to support initiatives that provide private benefit to a small group or to individuals. Think about an idea that benefits lots of people, or people who really need it, and apply!

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
