Amazing stories come out of the toughest times. There are hundreds of stories of good humans helping one another emerging after the severe weather and flooding recently battered the Northland, Auckland, Waitomo and the Coromandel recently.

So we’ve created Flooded with Love - a space to recognise our people: those who helped with the clean up, rescued a pet (or a neighbour), pushed cars out of water, directed traffic, loaned out equipment, shared shelter, or simply stopped for a supportive chat or a cup of tea.

Help us tell these stories and recognise the goodness that exists in our communities.

Neighbours Aotearoa (formerly Neighbours Day Aotearoa) is a community development initiative dedicated to growing, connecting and strengthening neighbourhoods across the country. It is a place-based and local approach – neighbours linking up in their local communities. Each year in March we encourage everybody to do something small - or large! - that lets you know a neighbour that bit better.
