Please use water sensibly
There’s not a lot of rain forecast but there’s still water in our dams – how can we make it last? This is the driest summer on record and we want to avoid restrictions. Time for everyone to do their bit.
“People who have never run out of water from their streams, bores or rainwater tanks are having to buy water this year. They pay not only for the water but for the costs of transport. Many are also having to join waiting lists before they can get their water because demand is so high. The result is that the Whau Valley Dam is being used to supply a larger number of households and businesses than usual."

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
