Te Tiriti o Waitangi workshop

Gain an insight into the unique cultural history of Aotearoa and in doing so, learn the answers to fundamental questions such as, what is Te Tiriti o Waitangi? Compare the Declaration of Independence with that of the Treaty texts. Involves activity-based learning techniques. Our experienced facilitators will work with participants to create a safe environment to enable full and free discussion. This course will be held at the Pehiaweri marae at Glenbervie. Please register directly with Taina on 4370833 or email info.pehiawerimarae@gmail.com. A small koha of $10 is payable to the marae on the first night.
Starts Mon 13 Feb 6.30-8.30pm 4 weeks $10 (to marae)
This workshop is part of the Community Education Whangarei programme for term 1.

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
