I’ve shouted the chooks a new (for them) roof and need about 3m of wide roof cap to make it watertight. As long as it’s better then the old one (see pic) I’ll be interested.

We are part funding a wheelchair swing for Waipu park in Northland. I wanted to make sure the swing we part funded was suitable so I reached out to the playground supplier.
I needed to know just how inclusive the swing would be.
I have received a very positive reply from the supplier on the specs for the swing we are part funding as below.
"Wheelchair swing for Waipu park.
There is no harness or trained staff required to operate the unit.
The weight limit is 2000kg.
Yes, the swing is suitable for power chairs. You can see from the video users will need to pull the rope to create movement"
Children with Disability NZ is connecting with the right people.
I look forward to a good relationship with this and other playground providers.
We want this idea of inclusive playgrounds to go New Zealand wide we are going to make it happen.

I have been quietly lobbying for about a month, between the council and Northland rugby over the accessibility of one of their wheelchair ramps.
Many thanks to Julie from Northland Rugby and Claire Wilson from WDC for their support.
I have just received confirmation that the law of common sense has prevailed, the ramp which is currently not wheelchair accessible will be wheelchair accessible by mid-April.
My lobbying with the council is just having success after success, I also have news on the Riverside Drive crossing good news but am not able to share it yet.
This week has been hugely successful. and to top it off our charity Children with Disability NZ has reached our first fundraising goal of $10,000 to put towards a Wheelchair swing at Waipu Activity Zone

Here are three reasons why and how making your bed can contribute towards a character.
1. A sense of achievement
It may appear to be a minor effort, but making your bed first thing in the morning provides you a sense of success. It only takes a few minutes of your time each morning to set a great tone for the rest of the day.
2. Creating Good Habits
When making your bed becomes a habit, you may notice that other positive habits will automatically follow. You now keep your clothing off the floor, and dusting has become a necessary habit that you like. Once you realize how quickly you can do these duties, you may begin to incorporate these habits into other areas of the house, such as the kitchen and living room. Before you realize it, your entire home will seem like a delightful, relaxing getaway.
3. Reduced levels of stress
A decluttered bed contributes to a decluttered environment. A clutter-free environment leads to a clutter-free mentality. A clutter-free mind leads to a clutter-free existence. You get the idea...

The myth that switching your car's petrol or diesel engine off and then turning it back on is bad for your vehicle or uses more fuel isn't true. It may have an impact on your battery, but it is minimal and no reason not to switch off.

If you idle for 10 seconds or more, then turning off your engine and turning it back on does not burn more fuel than idling. So stick to the 10-second rule. If you're idling for more than 10 seconds, turn off your engine - particularly when your vehicle is close to other people.
Think that you or your ancestors know better, or just don't want it to be true? Fair enough, sorry to bother you. Can't believe it and want to know more? Read the GenLess story.
