nelson city

Annette from Wakefield

was just reading today in the paper about the ideas for nelson city .ha ha i cant believe or wonder way people think having apartments in the city will bring people into town .We only have to look at the state house area where those not all that live their have no respect for where they live it becomes a dumping ground is that what the city really wants .hell we cant even get the right people to mow the grass verge or look after the gardens into the city coming back into nelson the other day it looks dirty ,lawns not mowed garden well they aren't garden they are weeds they cant even be bothered to mow and nelson city want more of this .just madness .green areas aren't the answer seating in town yes they have enough trees and flowers as it is but the town needs a good clean up new paint jobs on some of the buildings more parking and better areas for the young .nothing to do with drinking or that's the next problem we will have bashings glory .maybe seeing the cops on the beat like they use to on a Friday and Saturday night .Eatery's well we have plenty of those we don't need consultants cause that will cost money I'm sure people who live here can give you better ideas and cheaper ideas as well .art work ,chess games there must be something that would help bring people in to the city .after all Richmond is hoping

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
