Kumara races moved to Greymouth after bad weather and wild pig damage
Wet weather after damage by hordes of wild pigs means a long-running West Coast horse racing meet can not go ahead.
The Kumara Racing Club meet scheduled for Saturday will now be held at Greymouth's Omoto race course.
Kumara Racing Club president Patrick Meates said stewards inspected the track at the Kumara Race Course on Monday and raised health and safety concerns.
"It was coming along fine but we had some very bad weather and the very hard decision was made to offer our day to Greymouth. It was a hard decision to make but it was the best thing for the club and racing on the West Coast," he said.
