Help us Help pets in Tonga!
Hi all!
My name is Lisa Coppins and I work as a Vet Nurse in Temuka. Lauren Prouting (vet), and I are going to Tonga in October to volunteer with SPAW (South Pacific Animal Welfare). SPAW is a registered charity that works with our island cousins to bring much needed veterinary care to areas were there are often no permanent vets. This will be my 3rd trip, and Lauren's 5th, this time round we thought we would fundraise to help cover costs of flights, and volunteer fees. Previously we have covered these costs ourselves. Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
