Domestic tourism helping business boom for North Canterbury wineries
The lack of international tourists is not expected to put a dampener on North Canterbury's wineries this summer as domestic tourists take over.
Business is booming for Greystone Wines, where general manager Nik Mavromatis is still celebrating featuring on the prestigious Top 100 Wine Discoveries list last month.
Visitors from around New Zealand were flocking to the wine district, and cellar door sales had risen 20 per cent compared to last year, he said.
