Hi
Does anyone have a lemon tree laden with more fruit than you can handle? Would you like to see them used? I can help. I need fresh lemons to assist with my health. I'd be happy to come and pick them and take them off your hands (or pay if that helps too).
Thanking you :)

It took our team of 6 volunteers - Lissie, Tracy, Liam, Alastair (Tawa Lions) David and John (Tawa Lions) 1.5 business days to get it out back into the community.
This stock was shared with local foodbanks as far as Kapiti across to Upper Hutt and Wellington City.
Last financial year to 31st March 2019, our charity rescued and redistributed over 196.6 tons of food. 3,174 banana boxes of clothing, schoool supplies, Xmas present and then the trucks full of furniture and whiteware.
To learn more about what our Grenada North/Tawa charity does please watch the Tv1 Good Sorts link below.
www.tvnz.co.nz...
Whilst the video is 3 years old the only thing that has changed is the significant increase in food rescued and redistributed each week. It is now 4-5 tons of food a week.
Please note that as we are a distribution hub to 67 other charities and community groups that we don't deal with the general public. Our 100 volunteers work behind the scenes directly with local foodbanks like Newlands Foodbank, Salvation Army Foodbanks in Lower Hutt, Porirua and Tawa, St Annes Pantry Foodbank, plus groups like Bellyful.

Northern Ward city councillors’ most recent promotion took us to 989 x 200L tanks that we’ve sold in the past three years or so. This coming Saturday, 21st September, we will be selling the tanks outside Countdown Johnsonville (next to The Warehouse), and that will be when we hit the 1000 mark!
A few months ago when we were contemplating this milestone, we decided we’d make a bit of a fuss when we handed over number 1000!
So to celebrate the event, those who pre-order and pre-pay 200L emergency water tanks for this Saturday – to be picked up at Johnsonville – will have their names go into a hat, not just once, but two entries per person! Those who “walk up” and pay on the day will have their names go into the same hat, but just one entry per person.
On the reasonable assumption that we’ll sell at least 11 water tanks this Saturday (taking us up to #1000), the one name drawn out of the hat will be regarded as the 1000th tank sold! To celebrate, we will refund $60 of the purchase price of $115, with the other $55 being donated to a school, church, charity or community group (of the winner’s choice) within the northern suburbs of Wellington.
If you don’t already have a 200L emergency water tank, or need another one – bearing in mind the official recommendation is to store 20L of water per person for seven days – you can pre-order your tank now by emailing malcolm.sparrow@wcc.govt.nz to reserve a tank. Once you have sent through your $115 payment, we will hold one for you for pick up outside Countdown Johnsonville (next to The Warehouse) on Saturday. Alternatively you may pay cash on the day, but on a first in, first served basis.
