Volunteer Role - Short term van assistant - Newtown
Are you able lift heavy items safely? And are you available these school holidays (8 July - 19 July)? One of our members, St Vincent de Paul Society Wellington, is looking for a couple of people to volunteer as van assistants to support their van driver. This is initially just for two weeks while the regular volunteers are on leave.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
