Designed for life in Tawa

Metlink

Tawa’s a top place to live, but the hills are steep and getting around isn’t always easy…until now.

Tawa On Demand has launched. It’s a pilot service where you book, pay and ride via an app. Most residents can expect to be picked up within 50m of a virtual stop. There are four 17-seat vans. Each van can carry one wheelchair, and operates between 6.30am and 7.30pm Mondays to Fridays, and 8.30am to 9.30pm on Saturdays.

See website for Peak and Off-Peak Service details. Whether you’re going to the train, bus, shops, doctors, or the bakery, Tawa On Demand gets you.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!

CONTINUOUS GLUCOSE MONITORING (CGM)

Raymond from Tawa

If you are still using the Finger Prick method to monitor the blood sugar levels, here's some good news.
There are now several products in the market that allow you to do the monitoring with a sensor that is attached to the arm.
The challenge is most of them cost around $100 for a 14 day use.
Now there is Caresense Air that is way more affordable;
1 unit is $60 + postage but if you order
6 units, the price comes down to $48 +postage per unit.

I am inviting anyone interested to contact me so we can make use of the bulk order discount.

PS: I am not an agent or distributor for Carensense Air. Just thought of making use of the bulk discount.
