I am a little outraged at an estimate of my mothers estate taking 8-12 months to administer with a cost at just under $11,000- .
Mum had cash in the bank and no other material assets having been in hospital level care for around 3 years.
The estate is split equally between 3 children with a token gift to 1 other estranged child which I believe was at their advice when the will was made.
I don't know what it would cost normally but it seems outrageous that cash only could incur that sort of cost.
I'd encourage people to enquire if that seems high, you do have a choice.
I know Mum would be very annoyed at this cost herself had she known.
Thanks, ian

That’s why Ryman villages plan ahead by offering independent living in apartments and townhouses, assisted living in serviced apartments, resthome care and, in most villages, hospital and specialist dementia care.
We offer a higher ratio of care in our villages so that if your needs change, you have priority access to our care centres.
