Wellington United Diamonds collected their fourth trophy in three years when they won the early season competition the Kelly Cup Bowl on Saturday with a 4-0 win over fellow W-League contenders Palmerston North Marist.

Diamond's who won the Kelly Cup last season, suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Victoria University in the second round of this season's competition. That result saw them drop into the Bowl competition and they qualified for Saturday's final with a comfortable 2-0 win over Petone.

Their opponents in the final were a team that has provided a challenge for the Diamonds in recent years, Palmerston North Marist and the most recent meeting was a pre season friendly where Marist ran out 3-0 winners.

The game got off to a late start as no referee turned up, a PN Marist supporter stepped in to take the whistle and did a good job. Marist's hopes of a repeat of the pre season result were quickly dashed when a brace from Jemma Robertson in the first 20 minutes put United 2-0 up. Robertson was unlucky to not get a hat trick as United created many chances but were unable to add to their total by half time.

United dominated possession in the second half and it was only the post, a couple of near misses and a great save from Welsh, the Marist keeper, that kept the scoreline down. Then with about 20 minutes to go, substitute Nat Olson, received a ball from the hard working midfielder Lucy Jones, and despite having two players around her managed to get a shot away from the edge of the penalty which found its way into the top corner. Shortly after another sub, Charlotte Wilford-Carroll, found the bottom corner and the game finished 4-0.

Do you know what your rights are at work? How about your rights to do with renting or owning a home? If you buy something that’s faulty do you know what your options are? This CAB Awareness Week from 8-14 April you’re being invited to Discover Your Rights – Tūhuratia ō motika!

Helping people to know what their rights and responsibilities are and how they can act on these is core to what the Citizens Advice Bureau is about. We help people from all walks of life to access the information they need so they are empowered to take next steps and to resolve their problems.

A highlight of this year’s Awareness Week is the launch of the CAB’s new public website - www.cab.org.nz.... After a year of development and user testing, the resulting website provides an accessible, mobile-friendly, knowledgebase of 2,000 questions and answers about people’s rights that are based on real issues confronted by clients.

The information about rights is grounded in the law but is practical and is expressed in a way that’s easy to understand.

The website also provides a directory of more than 30,000 community organisations so that the CAB can help connect people with any additional services they need.

We’re keen to break down any barriers people face in finding out what their rights are. Our new website is a fantastic resource for the whole community, and complements the amazing face-to-face and phone service provided by our skilled and dedicated volunteers.

We invite you to Discover Your Rights with us this Awareness Week by checking out our new website www.cab.org.nz..., calling us 0800 367 222, or by visiting your local CAB. We’re here to help.

Hi Neighbours,

My husband was unloading stuff from my food truck on Saturday 30th March. He left the stuff on the kerbside in front of the driveway to our house. He went to parked the food truck. It was less than 2 minutes. Some person decided to walk off with my trolley and one of my beloved old cooking pot. It was late on Saturday night at around 11.40 pm. I like to have my cooking pot back please, no questions ask. We live in Kilbirnie area. If you know someone who came home with a trolley and pot please let me know. If you need new a pot I am happy to get you a new one and swap it. You can keep the trolley. No questions. That old pot has a real sentimental value to me. Thanks
