I have a 30sqm strip across the front of my place for which I’m charged $653.70/year. If I owned the land I’d pay $191.32/year on top of my rates.
How is this fair. This piece of land is not usable by anyone other than us and provides little utility other than we cross it to get into our house. I’ve emailed WCC asking how they calculate the rate/square metre but haven’t heard back yet. If you’re interested in being involved in following up further on this let me know either here or via messenger.
