I … View more"When I first arrived at SPCA, I spent a lot of time snoozing in my bed. I was grateful to have somewhere quiet and warm to relax. I have met a few different dogs and have shown that I don't necessarily enjoy the company of other dogs. So would very much like a home as an only dog. I don't appreciate dogs jumping on me. I would much rather be curled up with my humans. I am looking for a home with older teenagers or adults, and a home where it's more quiet rather than a busy household. I walk well on leash, am toilet trained, and have had some basic training. I need a yard with at least 1.6m fencing. I have been learning to ignore the cat in my foster home which is going well. My new owner will need to be aware of my previous medical history which the team will provide to any applicants. if you don't know Strathmore Park, it's the southern hills of Miramar, overlooking the Airport and the strait. We've got challenges like being the highest poverty area in Wellington city but also strengths from being a community that looks out for and helps each other.
That's why we have a free community pataka-kai (pantry of non-perishable food), and free food from kaibosh - free haircuts, access to sewing machines, Internet, and vaccination events, and we host a mobile laundry for the community - and people in the community can drop in for a cup of tea.
We've set up a Givealittle page for the community to contribute to.

The protest action is on the Hataitai side (Ruahine Street) of the Mount Victoria Tunnel and began this morning around 8am. Protesters have been seen dangling above the tunnel entrance.
Police have shared that the safety of the public is their top priority and these tunnel lanes will be monitored. Where possible, use alternative route for travel at this time.
***UPDATE: 9.45am: Mt Victoria Tunnel lanes, east and west-bound, are currently CLOSED. Motorists are asked to avoid SH1 from the airport and eastern suburbs into the city via the Mt Victoria Tunnel and instead use Evans Bay or Newtown when travelling city-bound. ***
