If you've noticed a missed call from a number you don't recognise (particularly international numbers), it is important that you don't call this number back and consider reporting this as a potential scam.
Phone companies are advising customers to reject these calls and if you have friends or family living overseas, it is recommended to have their numbers added as contacts in your mobile phone, so you can identify when they are calling you.
- Check out these tips from Netsafe for how to help protect yourself from scams.
- Read about the different types of scams you could be caught out by including wangiri (one ring) and 'technical support' scams

This would provide a more direct route from the city to some of the southern suburbs rather than using the very congested Victoria St. Changing to a two-way street would make good use of this part of Willis St which frankly is very quiet after 9am. It would help improve traffic flow in general through the city.....

We have had a number of parents of babies and preschoolers tell us that they would love a playgroup in Churton Park. we have open Playgroup at the Centre on Wednesday morning from 10 am - 11.30 am, but we don't have a coordinator for this group.
Would you be interested in bringing your little one to a playgroup over this time? Would you also be interested in helping to organise the group? This would not be a difficult task. We have the toys, the tea and coffee, and the space available. We would just need people to take turns at setting up the room and tea and coffee etc, and packing away and vacuuming afterwards. As a group you may like to have a roster for this.
If you are interested please email mai.mostafa@wcc.govt.nz or Ph 830 4802
