Papua is located just north of Australia - and occupies the western side of the island of New Guinea. The area is divided into two separate provinces of Papua and West Papua. It’s a resource-rich land (world’s largest goldmine, vast rain forests), governed by Indonesia since 1969. There has been a bloody struggle for independence since then, with West Papuans subjected to wide-spread human rights abuse, cultural genocide, massacre and destruction of their environment. More than 100,000 West Papuans have been killed.
Please bring extra coins/cash for on-the-spot chances to win!
