We've had (unexpectedly) a year's worth of Council rates to pay (the direct debit authority we had in place for paying our rates monthly was cancelled, unbeknown to us, in November 2022) and when I went to pay it by internet banking, the template indicated 1.27% would be added (which came to nearly $70). This was not charging to a credit card - just ordinary internet banking. Husband went in and payed at their offices this morning after unsuccessfully trying to pay at a post shop and the Johnsonville Hub yesterday. I would be interested to know if anyone else has been aware of something similar.
