A dad and his two daughters are still missing after going hiking in Lower Hutt.
A search and rescue operation ran all night in a bid to locate the family of three, who left Lees Grove in Wainuiomata at 12pm on Tuesday with the intention of walking in Days Bay.
The 50-year-old father and his two daughters, aged 14 and 11, were due to return home at 3.30pm, police said.
But when they hadn't returned home by 6pm, police were contacted by a concerned family member.

We are offering them to our supporters for a suggested koha donation of $7 for the 1 x litre jars and $5 for the .5 litre jars - we are happy to offer a discount if buying more than a couple. They come with metal screw on bands and seals and are in pristine condition. Any funds raised will go to a community effort near where our donor lives.

Being a Leader has many benefits and provides many opportunities. Leaders come from all walks of life, from parents of Scouts, to childhood Scouts, to people with no Scouting experience at all! Get involved in your community and it looks great on your CV also.
A Leader needs to be a motivated individual with a commitment to supporting our varied, exciting and dynamic programs. Scouts NZ helps us deliver this by providing training and support in all aspects of Scouting, youth leadership, programming and safety.
Leader training is provided and normally, Leaders need to commit to Group meetings one night per week during school term, a programme meeting each term, and perhaps a few weekends a year for outdoor activities such as hiking and camping trips.
More information is available here members.scouts.org.nz...
If you are interested or have questions please contact our Group Leader, Michael Corcoran on 0272758091 - email tawa@group.scouts.nz

Has anyone come across the situation below?
My son owns a flat upstairs and has insurance with BNZ.
Recently, the flat downstairs was sold and the new owners are unable to get their own insurance for some technical reason.
They have been advised that the only option is to get a joint insurance with my son.
1) Is this a workable solution?
2) My son has landlords insurance and it is a package that covers his own house and 2 motor cars. Can you mix that with an owners insurance?
3) He is most worried about the impact of future claims.
Do you know of anyone who has had this kind of insurance or a solicitor who can help him on the complications and implications of such an arrangement?
Thank you in advance.

The "feebate" scheme wouldn't cost the taxpayer anything, instead using money gained by putting a fee on imported high-emissions cars in order to make imported hybrids, electric cars, and other efficient vehicles cheaper with a subsidy.
