Varicose veins? Best treated in winter

The Vein Centre

Painful or just ugly varicose veins are a long - lasting problem.

The treatment is usually associated with a short-term compression therapy, which is the best tolerated during a winter time. Why don't have them assessed and treated now so your legs look and feel better next summer?

I know you’re probably extremely busy atm but you spare a minute to support women’s health? This a petition for the contraception “Marina” to be fully funded in New Zealand.

The Marina is a hormone-releasing IUD and it’s currently listed as an essential medicine by the WHO. Most OECD countries cover the cost of the Marina however, NZ is an exception and access to the Marina is subject to stringent funding restrictions. The Marina is only funded for women with anemia otherwise it costs between $400 and $600.

The Marina is one of the most effective, acceptable and well tolerated forms of contraception. It reduces monthly pains, is a management strategy for endometriosis and it reduces endometrial hyperplasia, a precursor to endometrial cancer.

The Marina has been available in NZ for over 20 years but the current restrictions make it unaffordable for many women, prompting further health inequality in NZ.

Thank you for taking the time to read/sign and please pass the petition on.

‘The children are our future.’ It’s a well-loved cliché around the world because it’s absolutely true. The hopes and dreams we have for our communities are only as strong as the children and young people who continue to believe in them long after we’re gone.

This month is all about supporting our young people, to encourage and empower them to not only be the change-makers and community builders of tomorrow but also the best versions of themselves. To listen to their perspective and remember that it’s not just about what we can teach them, but what lessons they can teach us. After all, the recipe for creating healthy, happy children includes a lot of the same ingredients for building safer, more resilient and connected communities.

Want to share your thoughts?

Let us know how you’re supporting young people in your communities this month by tagging us in your posts + using the following hashtag so we can see what you get up to:

This will be the third bus route introduced to Rodney by Auckland Transport and the Rodney Local Board, joining the 128 Helensville to Hibiscus Coast Station and the 998 Wellsford to Warkworth, which began operation in February.
I'd like to hear your thoughts on the new bus routes for a wider story on transport in north Auckland. How overdue are these services? Where are Rodney's transport gaps? Do you support the existence of a Rodney Transport Targeted Rate?
