With the safety of our staff, members, family/whanau, visitors and the wider community in mind, Alzheimers Whanganui has cancelled all our Group outings and gatherings for the next three weeks. We have not made this decision lightly and realise this may adversely impact our carers and clients. We will be in regular contact with all of our members and ask the community to make contact with any elderly in your neighbourhood to ensure they are safe. Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
