Come along to the finale of the Holden Trade Club Saloon Speedweek presented by Valvoline.

When: Saturday, December 8 - Gates open at 4pm racing starts at 6pm.
Where: 7 Sandflat Rd, Cromwell

After an intense week of five meetings it comes down to this, the sixth and final meeting to decide the overall winner from 24 of the country’s best saloon drivers – 8 from the North Island and 16 from the South Island including Heavy Trax Central Motor Speedway ‘t’ driver Ivan Murdoch(7t), Phil Burgess(15t), Graham Williamson(21t) and Barry Taylor(28t). Low, wide and loud, saloons are thoroughbred race cars with sophisticated space frame chassis and full race V8’s churning out around 400hp.

Visiting class: V8 Modifieds – a cross between a saloon and sprintcar – launch the 2018-19 Mainland Modified Series. Fast and furious, one small mistake can send them rolling along the clay like metal tumbleweed.

Some of these thunderstorms are expected to bring heavy rain with intensities of 10 to 25mm per hour and hail 10 to 20mm in diameter. Additionally there is a moderate risk that some slow moving thunderstorms could become SEVERE producing downpours with intensities of 25 to 40mm per hour. Rainfall of this intensity can cause surface and/or flash flooding, especially about low-lying areas such as streams, rivers or narrow valleys, and may also lead to slips. Driving conditions will also be hazardous with surface flooding and poor visibility in heavy rain.

Should severe weather approach or if you feel threatened, take shelter immediately.

Hi neighbours,

Christmas is supposed to be the jolliest time of year - full of whimsical family reunions, selfless gift-giving and Masterchef-worthy feasts.

But sometimes this just isn't captured on camera. We're after those amazingly awkward Christmas moments that have been captured on film.

Maybe it was the time you went to visit Santa and your little one didn't want a bar of it. Maybe it was a self-timed family shot that went horribly awry. Or a Christmas meal that was more a festive fail.

Whatever the not-so-merry moment, we want to see it! Share your pictures and a little bit about them with us in Stuff Nation. We look forward to seeing them! Here's the link to contribute.
