Why would you buy a property in the sun-soaked Wallaceville Estate area and then go to all the trouble to slowly but surely construct a huge solid timber sun shelter the entire length of the side of a house and taking up most of a former lawn/garden area of a lawn-sparse property?

Well, the householders in this property of significant contrasting ages are not sunworshippers as they are all fully decked out clothes-wise all summer long.
Reminds me of an old Yiddish proberb: Men don't build on strange ground.

It's that time of year - we all get a little nostalgic for Christmas' past. My grandad wasn't exactly the Grinch Who Stole Christmas, but he sure wanted it over and done with. Would love to hear your reminisces.

NZ has hit more than 90% of people over 12 being vaccinated twice - 95% in Wellington, 90% in Hutt Valley. But it is not good enough.

Omicron is aggressively spreading in many countries and children aged 5-11 are being vaccinated in many countries. For NZ, Omicron will hit us hard but hopefully not as hard as in some other countries. The 400,000 children aged 5-11 here will not start a measure of Pfizer
vaccine until January 17 and there will be a lot of resistance.
People aged over 12 in NZ will need a third Pfizer vaccine -AND A FOURTH - probably within a year of having received their first vaccine.
Israel, to whom the Pfizer vaccine became available months before it arrived in NZ, have had over 4 million of its people with a third jab and to date NZ is at around 140,000. But here is the deal - Israel says in the short term, a fourth jab is now needed as well in a bid to outpace the variants of Covid especially the skyrocketing Omicron.
And who knows what else is awakened as a branch out of Covid but the chances of more variants are higher than a cessation.

Got to get this off my mind. It's a plea to whoever takes on opening a cafe in the Blue Mountains Campus, Wallaceville 12 months from now.
If indeed a public cafe is installed as expected, it will occupy part of the ground floor of the four storey Buddle House.
So here is the name for it:
