Spoiling trick or treat

Yes, I was taking a risk leaving it unattended but we were out trick or treating ourselves and didn’t want anyone who came to our house to miss out. Hubby heard the noise and saw what you’d done as you hot-tailed it down the driveway. It’s deeply affected both my boys - one of whom is autistic and is increasingly of the opinion that teenagers are ‘mean’. My elder son, who is 10, was the most upset and you ruined his whole evening. What a memory to leave 2 young kids. I hope your teeth rot.

However, critics say they’re dangerous and people are injured by them every year. Fans, on the other hand, argue that all fun involves some level of risk, it just needs to be managed safely.

Last year, we saw a 23% drop in the number of fireworks-related injury claims (171 claims across 2017 versus 223 across 2016). What do you think? Should personal fireworks be banned? Click here for advice on how to use fireworks responsibly.
