Food Recall: Kinder Surprise Maxi Eggs, Kinder Mini Eggs Hazelnut, Kinder Happy Moments Ballotin and Kinder Maxi Mix with plush toy
The Kinder recall is getting very serious.
Ferrero Australia Pty Ltd is expanding their recall to include all batches and sizes of specific Kinder brand chocolates due to the possible presence of Salmonella. Affected products should not be consumed. Toys within the affected products should be discarded as they may be in contact with the affected chocolate. There have been cases of illnesses reportedly linked to Kinder Surprise chocolate eggs, manufactured by Ferrero International S.A. in Belgium. There have been no confirmed cases in New Zealand, however if you have consumed any of this product and have any concerns about your health, seek medical advice.
Note:
This is an extension of recall notices published on 7 and 8 April 2022 to include additional products, multiple batches and varieties. Additional retail outlets have also been included.
Kinder Surprise Eggs (20g, all variations) imported by Ferrero Australia Pty Ltd, sold in New Zealand are not affected by this recall.
Other product, packaging and design variations under the Kinder brand sold by Countdown, FreshChoice, SuperValue, Pak'n Save, New World and Four Square supermarkets, Kmart and The Warehouse stores are not affected by this recall.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
