KiwiRail is upgrading the Interislander ferry terminal at Kaiwharawhara in Wellington?
Proposed changes include a new wharf, an upgraded terminal building and well-designed surrounds for parking, people and the safe movement of vehicles.
Work is planned to start next year, ready for the arrival of two bigger, and more environmentally friendly ferries from 2025.
The Interislander is considered one of the most beautiful in the world, so let’s create an arrival experience to match.
Consultation on proposed design for the Kaiwharawhara terminal is open now until 30 November. Go to wellingtonprecinct.co.nz and have your say.
