Writers Plot bookshop - 5 years
Our little Writers Plot bookshop turns 5 this Thursday, 1st October.
A big THANK YOU to our supporters, authors, city council, The Lion Foundation, and our wonderful volunteers who keep the doors open.
There is amazing tasty chocolate cake at the shop for customers (and us) to eat (photos are on our facebook page). If you are in the area come in and say hi, buy a book and go in the prize draw (for a gorgeous book and treats).
Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
