I get it now
I get it now. At first, I didn't. Couldn't figure out why various organizations were declaring a climate change emergency. Nothing underpinning it you understand, no ten point action plan for how this emergency should be addressed. Just a big bold empty proclamation. Now it's starting to unfold as we hear about "the burden of climate change'. Supposedly, this will be used as justification for a whole raft of price increases. These will generally come from the same people whose unfettered greed caused the problem in the first place. Just as the global financial crisis fell right into the neoliberals laps, so too will "the burden of climate change" be used to further gouge out middle NZ. No matter that if we actually addressed climate change by, eg, moving to zero waste, we would save our communities a bundle of dosh. Well...... You can always fool some of the people.......
