Waikanae Easter Market 2019

Sue from Waikanae

Our Waikanae Town Centre Market is full to bursting with lots of new stallholders including Pottery by Sue, with pukekos strutting and possums climbing up totara poles, familiar faces like the Menzshed selling bird feeders - warm clothing and wet weather clothing (yes, for dogs too), music on two stages and small and large children's entertainment (Shane's eBikes!) -

Don't miss it! Being in the Marae Car Park as well as the Main Road and East/West Mahara Place will make it feel a lot more spacious and easier to browse round the stalls -

and look out for some of the lovely members of HUHANZ wandering around with their canine friends at this market too - we're fundraising for them this year to thank them for all the amazing work they do, particularly during and after the Nelson fires 😊

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
