Camellia Society meeting
The Sasanquas are coming out around Waikanae and no petal blight at this time of year. Have you got some flowering? If so, why not enter them in the novice section at the next meeting of the Kapiti Branch of the NZ Camellia Society. Everyone is welcome. The meeting is on Monday April 1st, from 2-4pm at the Presbyterian Church Hall, 43 Ngaio Road, Waikanae. Our guest speakers will be Beverley Gatfield and Margaret Haywood demonstrating the “Propagation and pruning of miniature roses”. Bring your camellias for the in-house competition. Come at 1.30pm to enter blooms (with two leaves). We always have afternoon tea, a sales table, and great raffles. Visitors most welcome.
Free collection of broken chest freezer.
I have a chest freezer which is broken. I was wanting to know if there is anyone out there who does collection of white goods free.

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
-
59.4% Yes, supporting people is important!
-
26.1% No, individuals should take responsibility
-
14.5% ... It is complicated
