Home Harvest Cafe

Francesca from Wallaceville - Whitemans Valley

This is a shout out for the lovely people at Home Harvest Cafe, 3 Plateau Rd, Te Marua, Upper Hutt 5018 open Thursday -Sunday. Tonida (Sp?) is from Sumatra and she and her family (many work at the cafe) are delightful. The toasted cheese scones are very good and so is the coffee. It is definitely worth a trip down the road from town to sit outside under the trees having a yarn with the locals. Visit them on Thursday and Friday if you can as they could use more business then. It is a great place to stop if you are cycling the Rimutakas or walking in Kaitoke forest. They are renovating a cottage to take guests and it would be a lovely spot to stay.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
