Following the installation of the temporary above ground pipe, we now need to install a permanent underground pipe which means excavating from the Dixon/Willis intersection along Willis Street to State Highway 1 near Ghuznee Street.

On Monday 13 January 2020 we will start site investigations, locating service in the road and trenching along Willis Street. Pedestrian access along both sides of Willis Street will remain the same.

We are holding a community meeting next week, where we would like to invite businesses owners and residents to discuss the project work. We will have a project engineer, council representatives and local councillors available to answer any questions you may have.

The details for the community meeting are:
Tuesday 14 January, 5.30pm - Conference Centre, St John’s in the City.

Updates on this project will be available at: www.wellingtonwater.co.nz...

One of Kapiti’s most successful youth training and adventure organisations is opening its doors for new members to help build the skills they will need to deal with life.

For 40 years the 49 (District of Kapiti) Squadron Air Training Corps, has been developing teamwork and leadership potential for young people aged between 13-18 and skills including supporting community projects, first aid, bushcraft, and flying.

The cadet unit carries out the Duke of Edinburgh’s award programme which offers NCEA credits.

There are currently 30 members who actively support the community by parading and providing support at ANZAC Day ceremonies run by the Paraparaumu and Otaki RSAs and projects like Kapiti Run 4 Youth and Kapiti Food Fair.

That community support was recognised last year when the Squadron was a finalist in the Wellington Airport Community Awards and Kapiti volunteer awards for the wide range of community support activities the unit gets involved in.

Flying Officer Lyn Williams, commanding officer of the unit, says each year the unit holds an open night for potential new recruits and their parents and the response has always been encouraging.

This year the open night will be held from 6 pm on Wednesday 29th January at the unit headquarters at 239 Kapiti Road, behind Air Museum.

Hello All,

I have some great scaffolding that I originally purchased to paint my home.

My home is over 2 and a half levels and the scaffolding was great to reach up to 7 metres.

This scaffolding can now can be hired/borrowed for a nominal fee for anyone painting their house or needs safe access up high...I bought it as the cost of hiring some was horrendous!

The scaffolding is 2 bays and will reach 7 metres safely, it has diagonal supports along with screw in horizontal building stays.

The scaffolding is easy to move, put up and down.
I can deliver and remove the scaffolding and I can also erect and take it down if needed.

If you want to know more then please email, text or call me gary.cottle@outlook.com or 021 724 810.
