Our Ruru is a guardian of the forest who loves to call his friends at
night to go hunting.
This month Ruru is showcasing Family History month with these FREE activities such as:
• Make a Ruru mask with coloured card, tissue paper, metallic markers, whetu stickers and glue.
• Create a Ruru taonga box with cardboard, glue and embellishments.
• Write your name on a leaf and add it to the big Family Tree.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
