Open Days: Welcome Bay Supermarket Project

We will be holding two open days to give you an opportunity to meet with council staff and elected members to discuss a potential supermarket in Welcome Bay. Join us on Wednesday, 3 May at the Welcome Bay Community Centre, 9am to 1pm and 4pm to 8pm, or Saturday, 6 May at Waipuna Park Pavilion, 9am to 1pm. We hope to see you there. In the meantime, please complete our online survey and tell us what you think.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
