Parking in the CBD
Tomorrow is the last day of free parking in the Tauranga city centre before fees return to normal on Thursday, 11 June.
We've had a range of free and reduced fees through the COVID-19 alert levels. From Thursday, all on-street and off-street parking will return to their standard fees. Time restrictions were unchanged, so they continue to apply as normal.
Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
