It appears that candidates in this year's local body elections are in no rush with their paperwork.
As of Thursday morning only one mayoral candidate and five Taupō ward candidates had officially put their names forward - seven spots are available in the Taupō ward.
The Lakes DHB slate was clean as were spots in the three other wards for the district council and the community board positions. Nominations close on August 16.
