I'm all for a party on the beach but TAKE YOUR RUBBISH HOME WITH YOU!
I'll aim to clear the carnage bag-by-bag over the week. If you are heading to the beach please help clear some of the mess. Thank you.

What you have got to remember is traffic lights cause slugging of the traffic. You get a big flow of traffic then the lights go red and then there is nothing for about 10-20 seconds then the other apposing Rd starts. Now with the lights up at Mitre 10 there will be times when one Rd is sitting on a red light watching an empty intersection when normally they could go. Then of course the School crossing will cause a build back to South Belt and although the light says Green the road will be blocked. But everyone will still have to wait until that clears then as that happens they will get a red-light. So I just cannot see much improved flow if anything. We’ll still be back up to King St as we were before. There may be a lot still going Townsend/Fernside which relieve the pressure that is until they start on that section and then ???

I'm looking for fellow dog owners to socialise my 9 week old pup. She has only had her first injection so can only meet fully vaccinated dogs. I'm happy to travel to you to minimise inconvenience.
Many thanks in advance!

As it stands, residents outside the Cust village collection area transport their recycling to the Oxford or Southbrook Transfer Stations.
In considering the proposal, the WDC need an indication of the number of people that would use a local recycling facility in Cust before potentially doing a trial.
If you live in the Cust area, outside the current collection zone for rubbish and recycling in the village, CCN would appreciate your help with the following poll.
Would you use a Cust based recycling facility?

Fun fact: Did you know that in the 1930s, the real Captain von Trapp was a naval captain in a country that had zero ports? Yup, Austria lost quite a bit of stuff after WWI.

Further to asking whether residents would use a Cust based recycling facility, the Cust Community Network would like to know what residents are doing with their rubbish.
The results will go towards a proposal submitted to the Waimakariri District Council for a recycling facility.
