Dogs in Hot Cars & Out Running in the middle of the Day with NO WATER
One of the things I see especially in Summer is Dogs left in Hot Cars. It is of No benefit to the dog to be left in a hot car with the windows down a bit as this has no effect for them at all even if the car is in the shade. Please read the SPCA reports to confirm this. This sort of thing happens a lot in supermarket & shopping center car parks. People tend to think they will only be a short time but things always take longer than you expect. Please leave your fur babies at home where they can keep cool & hydrated. It only takes minutes for your car to heat up. I can not fathom why some people do not realize this. Also there are a lot of people out running their dogs during the heat of the day (on Bikes as well) and without water. They are not machines and unfortunately a dog does not always know to stop when it needs to which can then put the poor thing into heat exhaustion and even kill them. I am hoping that people will not get upset at me writing this post as someone has to speak for those that do not have a voice and they depend on us to keep them safe. Thank you.
Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
