It all started when Auckland woman Hannah Rodgers and her son, Jayden, committed to 100 days of kindness in the lead-up to Christmas last year.
"On day 65, Jayden suggested we write a card for someone who might feel lonely at Christmas," Rodgers says.
Now Rodgers and her son want the campaign, Sending Love, to help 100,000 Kiwis of all ages as it returns for its second year.

This will be someone that embodies the big guy with the white beard year round and who people in your neighbourhood often refer to as Santa.
Obviously, this person will also be the one that is called upon each year to don the red suit to go out and about posing for photos, handing out presents and just be an all-around nice charitable person.
If you know of someone, please leave us a comment with your details and how we can get in touch with your local Santa. COMMENT BELOW!

The annual awards are decided via a robust survey by market research agency, Catalyst. Fifteen hundred respondents were asked to nominate a service provider in up to 41 categories, including real estate sales. To qualify to vote on a category, respondents must have used a service provider from that industry.
The Gold Quality Service Award sits nicely alongside the Reader’s Digest Most Trusted Award we’ve held for six years in a row, 2013-2018.”
Readers Digest says it is confident that the results of this annual poll are the truly accurate measurement of New Zealand consumer sentiment in 2018, continuing into 2019.

The black and white short-haired cat, locally known as Scruffy, appears to be in pain since a fight in September. He is missing his right ear, has a swollen face, cannot hold his head up properly and has difficulty walking in a straight line.
In an effort to flush him out, a local cat rescue service is urging residents in Ashgrove area of northwest Rangiora not to feed him.
