Big Yellow Ball at the OGO
Is anyone else shocked and stunned by the visibility (visual pollution?) of the huge yellow balloon at the OGO? It is visible for such a long way along the stretch of road between the Ngongotaha roundabout and Rainbow Springs. It is also massively visible from down at the Lakefront. Can anything be done about this? I'm not meaning to shut them down, people need to make a living and this is a tourist destination after all but something like petition for it to be changed from yellow to clear like the OGO balls (or even green to blend in with the mountain). I've phoned the council but the person on the phone was new and had no idea what I was talking about.
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
