But KidsCan is helping. Since October they've been delivering five fresh meals a week to 25 early childhood centres, and kitting out kids with new raincoats and shoes. They want to extend the programme, so no one misses out on learning.
KidsCan, Neighbourly and Stuff have partnered up to raise enough money to feed and clothe 1000 more children under five. To support a child, sign up at KidsCan.org.nz.

SIT & Club Development
For the past few years Appleby Cricket has developed a solid relationship with SIT to help strengthen playing numbers with many players from outside the region. We are hoping this relationship can continue…. #STANDUPFORSIT. SIT’s support has been invaluable for the Club to field three competitive senior level teams. We are always on the lookout for new players and fresh talent, with any enquiries most welcome.

The team is very excited about the upcoming Championships, where they will be competing against 21 other teams in the Under 12 grade from all over New Zealand.
In December, they competed at the South Island Champs and placed 2nd in their technical march and 1st place in their display which was hugely exciting.
Most of the girls in the team have been marching together for 4 years, providing them with plenty of experience for a successful competition.
Coaches Mel and Ashleigh are extremely pleased with their steady progress and continued progress and can’t wait to see what the weekend brings.

Ban public sales of Fireworks.
Unfortunately there is too much misuse of fireworks by people that buy them.
The main problem is people stock up , then let them off at inappropriate times during the year.
As well as the amount of fire damage and extra pressure on medical services.
Also there is often a litter problem in public places.
What is the environmental impact from the gases from the burning of the fireworks?
Maybe the Government doesn't want want to ban public sales of fireworks because it gets revenue from the sales in taxes!
Public displays are far better quality and are at a set time.
Why is this important?
It protects our environment!
It stops noise pollution at inappropriate times!
saves extra pressure on fire service and Medical services
