Trail of brightly-coloured giant penguins goes on display in Christchurch
Fifty giant penguin sculptures have been installed throughout Christchurch and in the surrounding towns of Akaroa, Rolleston, Lincoln and Kaiapoi..
Each giant penguin sculpture has been decorated by commissioned artists, while 65 smaller penguins have been decorated by schoolchildren.
Visitors are encouraged to visit all the sculptures on the trail, upload photos of each, and vote for their favourite. This can all be done via the phone app Pop Up Penguins 2020. It contains information about each penguin, its artist and a map of where they can all be found. Read more here.
