We designed our house at 88 Motuhara Road and have loved it for 44 years. Children elsewhere so we septuagenarians are downsizing. Coastal forest plus 20-odd types of planted native trees and ferns mostly over 40 years old. Productive apple and lemon trees and rhubarb and kitchen herbs with space for veges. Sixty steps up from the garage to the first door but we see Mana Island and bigger distant islands from the sunny upstairs living areas. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
