Plimmerton residents worried about flood risk
Plimmerton residents believe “lives are at risk” if authorities don't take action to fix the area's stormwater system.
The Plimmerton Flood Action Group has formed after a torrential downpour, combined with a mid-morning king tide, left 16 homes uninhabitable among 60 properties damaged by floodwaters on November 29.
The group presented a five-point action plan to Porirua City Council on Wednesday, however council chief executive Wendy Walker conceded “not all of [the group's requests] were possible”.
