Rotary Forest of Peace & Remembrance. Can you help us plant it?

Come Along and Help Plant
The joint project between Porirua City and Plimmerton Rotary to create the "Rotary Forest of Peace & Remembrance" has taken a big leap forward in recent weeks with the planting of about 5000 plants around the the boundary between Taupo Swamp and Plimmerton Domain.
The next planting morning will be Saturday 31st July. 9 am to midday and helpers are most welcome.
Gather in the carpark adjacent to the Plimmerton Menzshed.
Bring your favourite planting spade and your gumboots.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
