Papakōwhai shared path work starts

Porirua City Council

Work starts from week of 20 November on a shared path for Papakōwhai Rd. This will connect schools, parks and public transport, making it easier for people to get around the city. It is likely to take until mid-2024 to complete.

Work will mostly take place Monday to Friday between 7am and 6pm. There will be traffic management in place, which will affect road users and roadside parking outside the lagoon. Parking will be reinstated where possible after 3pm. Detours may be in place and there may be occasional weekend work.

This pathway is 100% funded by the Government’s Transport Choices Programme, for projects encouraging people to bike, walk, and use public transport. The programme is led by Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
